Coastal Environment Coverage

Special Considerations for Coastal Installations

We understand the unique challenges of coastal environments in Cornwall and Devon. Salt exposure, wind, and humidity can affect equipment longevity, which is why we carefully select materials designed to withstand these conditions.

For sites more than 200m from the coast: Standard manufacturer warranties apply in full

For sites within 200m of the coast: Some manufacturers apply adjusted warranty terms for corrosion-related defects (typically 50% of standard period, or 10 years for lifetime warranties)

We assess coastal proximity and environmental factors during site survey to ensure you understand exactly what warranty coverage applies

Equipment selection considers local weather conditions and salt exposure to maximize longevity

Warranty Exclusions

The warranty does not apply to:

  • • Normal wear and tear from intended use, including cosmetic issues such as surface corrosion, scratches, dents, fading, or discoloration
  • • Products that are neglected, treated carelessly, misused, overloaded, or vandalized
  • • Damage from unforeseen environmental impacts such as extreme weather events or natural disasters
  • • Products used or installed with non-approved third-party components
  • • Failure to carry out and document inspection and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer instructions
  • • Products assembled or installed contrary to manufacturer instructions
  • • Corrosion damage when products are directly exposed to salt water
  • • Late notification of warranty claims (must be reported within 3 months of discovery)
  • • Minor issues related to timber, such as cracks that don't weaken the structure or cause safety concerns, splinters, or resin (wood is a natural material that expands and contracts with seasonal changes)
  • • Non-compliance with product information and safety instructions provided

*Lifetime warranty is in effect for the lifetime of the product until it is uninstalled and/or taken out of use.

Warranty Claims Procedure
